How do I turn points into a percentage grade?
Divide the points you earned by the points possible and multiply by 100. 43 out of 50 is 43 ÷ 50 × 100 = 86%.
What letter grade is 86%?
On the standard US 10-point scale, 86% is a B (83–86.99). 87% would be a B+.
Can I get over 100%?
Yes, if you earned extra credit. The calculator allows it and shows the letter as A+.
How do I find how many points I need for a percentage?
Multiply the percentage by the points possible. For 90% on a 60-point assignment you need 0.9 × 60 = 54 points. The "points needed" table does this for every letter.
