Grade Calculator
Enter each assignment with its score and maximum points, then select the category (Homework, Tests, Final, etc.). The calculator automatically applies the category weights (e.g., Homework 20%, Tests 40%, Final 40%) and computes your overall weighted grade percentage.
A weighted grade means different categories of assignments count for different percentages of your final grade. For example, tests might count for 40% while homework counts for 20%. The calculator handles weighted categories automatically based on standard grading systems.
Letter grades are calculated based on standard grading scales: A (90-100%), B (80-89%), C (70-79%), D (60-69%), and F (below 60%). The calculator shows both your percentage and letter grade. Note that some schools use different scales, so always verify with your instructor.
The calculator uses standard category weights (Homework 20%, Tests 40%, Final 40%, Quizzes 10%, Projects 20%, Participation 10%). If your class uses different weights, you can still use the calculator by adjusting which categories you assign to each assignment to approximate your actual weights.
Only enter assignments you've completed. The calculator will compute your current grade based on the work you've done so far. For future assignments, you can use the Final Grade Calculator to determine what scores you need to achieve your target grade.
Final Grade Calculator
Enter your current grade percentage (before the final), your desired final grade, and the weight of your final exam (as a percentage of total grade). The calculator uses the formula: Required Score = (Desired Grade - Current Grade à (1 - Final Weight)) / Final Weight to determine what you need on your final.
If the calculator shows a required score over 100%, it means your target grade is not achievable with your current standing. You'll need to either lower your target grade or focus on other assignments before the final to improve your current grade.
Yes! The Final Grade Calculator shows multiple scenarios - what score you need for an A, B, C, etc. This helps you understand your options and set realistic goals.
Absolutely! Just enter your actual final exam weight percentage (e.g., 30) in the weight field. The calculator works with any weight from 0-100%.
GPA Calculators
Unweighted GPA uses a 4.0 scale where A=4.0 regardless of course difficulty. Weighted GPA gives extra points for advanced courses: AP/IB courses get A=5.0, Honors get A=4.5, Regular get A=4.0. Most colleges recalculate your GPA using their own system, but both GPAs are important for admissions.
To calculate cumulative GPA, enter your previous cumulative GPA and total credits completed in the GPA calculator. Then add your current semester courses. The calculator will compute both your term GPA (current semester) and your new cumulative GPA.
The college GPA calculator uses the standard 4.0 scale with letter grade conversions: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, F=0.0. The high school calculator supports both weighted (up to 5.0 for AP courses) and unweighted (4.0 max) scales.
Academic standing varies by school, but generally: 3.5+ is Dean's List/honors, 3.0-3.49 is good standing, 2.0-2.99 is satisfactory, and below 2.0 may be academic probation. Always check your school's specific policies.
Yes! Enter only your current semester courses to see your term/semester GPA. To calculate cumulative GPA, also enter your previous cumulative GPA and total credits - the calculator will compute your updated cumulative GPA.
